Last 2 months I got rejection every scholarship and job which I applied and I kinda feel loser and it kinda leads to depression. Before that, I had a wonderful year which I won two scholarships and felt very confident but suddenly things didn’t work out and I don’t know how to deal with it.
It is understandable that you feel down and like you have taken some blows from life that are shaking your self-confidence. However:
- It is very important that you cultivate your sense of self worth and self-value REGARDLESS of what happens to you or around you.
Look at little children – can you tell which one is more valuable than another? Look at others around you – do you think they are less valuable or should feel less confident when life throws them a curve? Who you are, at your core, is valuable beyond words. Life will always ebb and flow. Your self-confidence and self-esteem don’t have to.
2. Find inspiration in the lives of others who have accomplished much in spite of incredible setbacks and life circumstances and who defied incredible odds.
For example, Henry Ford was told by everyone he knew that he was crazy for wanting to create the Ford car – that very few people would buy it and that he would go bankrupt. Thomas Edison is famous for trying 10,000 times before finding a solution to a problem. The examples are endless – from history, contemporary life… Don’t you find them inspirational?
Put this in perspective. It is an episode of your life. Besides, perhaps you are not meant to go down all those roads you are trying so hard to go on. Maybe your destiny is trying to guide you – and the only way to do that is to shut the wrong doors?
